What are magic mushrooms and why are they considered sacraments by our church?
Magic Mushrooms are a variety of fungi that contain psilocybin. Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic that has the unique and powerful ability to induce mystical and religious experiences that enhance humanity’s ability to communicate and interact with the divine.
We believe that the Magic Mushroom itself is what sparked the first religious experience of our species, catalyzing the evolution of our physiological, communal, neurological, and spiritual attributes. The utility of psilocybin mushrooms as tools in religious practice has been researched and confirmed by prestigious universities.
It is imperative that all safety and dosage information is thoroughly read and understood. Never attempt to consume psilocybin without careful preparation and adherence to safety guidelines.
The intent of these standardized dosing guidelines is to advance the safety and precision of psilocybin ceremonies. This research has been done by the Church of Ambrosia as part of its effort to educate, inform, and equip all producers, consumers, or providers of psilocybin edibles with vital safety information on psilocybin overdose.

Psilocybin dosing ranges from subtle to profound experiences. A microdose offers gentle enhancements without noticeable effects, while a perceivable dose heightens sensory awareness and connection. An intense dose deepens emotional and perceptual shifts, ideal for meditation and spiritual practices.
In collaboration with Hyphae labs of Oakland, Calif. , psilocybin mushroom varieties (also referred to as strains) were tested for potency of pure psilocybin. The resulting data revealed vast variability in the potency of pure psilocybin in dried mushroom strains, over a 1 to 40 ratio. The microgram potencies of strains tested ranged from a low of 600 mcg to a high of 24,600 mcg of pure psilocybin per gram of mushrooms.
Tolerance for psilocybin doses lasts for three weeks and tapers off slowly if no additional mushrooms are consumed. The rule of thumb with tolerance is that if you take 1g today you’ll need 2g tomorrow to get the same effect. On day 1 after dosing mushrooms your potency is 100% of your prior dose. At day 21 following a dose of psilocybin your tolerance will return to 0% as long as no additional mushrooms were consumed.
Before you consume any dose of psilocybin, Please refer to Dosage Levels to understand the difference between traditional dosing and dosing with the Church of Ambrosia’s new calculator. Read all Safety information before considering any dose of psilocybin.
